Line of Sight
Cover
Examples
Let's take a look at these poor Elementals hiding from Perdita:
- Fire Gamin has Sz 1 and is hiding behind a Ht 1 Blocking wall. It is within 1" of the wall - or within a Shadow cast by the wall. Therefore noone on the other side of the wall can draw Line of Sight to the Gamin (and vice versa).
- Ice Gamin has Sz 1, but is standing more than 1" from the wall. Perdita can draw Line of Sight to the Gamin, because it is not in the Shadow. Nephilim (Sz 1) and Ice Gamin (Sz 1) don't see each other, because all Lines of Sight drawn between them are blocked by a piece of terrain of Ht 1.
- Banasuva has Sz 3 and is standing in the Shadow cast by Ht 1 wall. Both Perdita and Nephilim can see him, but he benefits from Cover.
- Kandara has Sz 2 and is not standing in the Shadow. She ignores all terrain of Ht lower than her Sz, so can draw Lines of Sight to both Perdita and Nephilim (and vice versa).
Concealment
Examples
Let's take a look at Perdita trying to snipe The Captain:
Every Line of Site drawn between Perdita and The Captain passes through more than 1" of Concealing Terrain. The Captain benefits from Concealment against shots fired by Perdita.
Perdita is inside Concealing Terrain and there is a Line of Sight between her and The Captain that passes through less than 1" of the terrain. The Captain doesn't benefit from concealment against shots fired by Perdita.
This situation is identical to the one shown above.
There is a Line of Sight between Perdita and The Captain passing through Concealing Terrain and Perdita is not inside this Terrain. The Captain benefits from Concealment against shots fired by Perdita.
Additionally, in all previous examples, Perdita would benefit from Concealment against shots fired by The Captain (if only he had a gun).
